The Big Picture
We don’t want to be like the average person. That’s because the average person gets through a whopping 175 single use plastic water bottles every year which end up in landfill, in our oceans and polluting our atmosphere. And that’s not even including all the flavoured drinks we drink too…
My Bottles Is Reusable
We got frustrated by how the bottles we were supposed to reuse every day were so hard to clean and maintain. They always took time/effort to clean, could only be used for water and often got pretty darn smelly.
Let’s talk about why some bottles smell
Your average reusable bottle contains more bacteria than a dog’s bowl and it turns out over 80% of bottle users think that their bottle could be easier to clean and maintain. We wanted to solve this smelly bottle problem. After looking up the science, it turns out the unwelcome stench in your bottle is actually a build-up of bacteria primarily caused by two things…
Your bottle is not fully clean
A bottle needs to be thoroughly cleaned to ensure no nasties build up between washes. This is especially important for drinks other than water which might promote more bacterial growth.
Your bottles is not fully dry
The dark moist conditions inside a bottle which has not been fully dried are prime conditions for bacteria to grow and thrive. So make sure it’s fully dry so that no bad smells build up when you’re not watching.
